The Story
He Made It!
In June, 2015, my dad, James Leon, achieved his life-long goal of living to be 100. He overcame some odds along the way:
- World War II
- A serious chain saw accident at age 42
- Emergency triple by-pass surgery at age 76.
- A broken hip at 99
How did he live so long?
- Genetics
- Exercise - He walked daily
- A positive attitude about God, life and other people
- . . . or as he used to say when asked, "Just keep breathing"
He continued his daily walks, attended church and played pinochle at the local Senior Center, until he went home to the Lord, 60 days before his 104th birthday.
